5 More Essentials for Your Rehearsal Bag

Spring is now in full-swing and, with it come rehearsals, auditions, and classes! Not to mention, summer programs will soon be here. It is time to take a deep breath and re-evaluate your rehearsal bag. Here are five more essentials for your rehearsal bag. Check out the first five at Ksenia Popova's 5 Essentials for Your Rehearsal Bag!

Recording Device
Recording rehearsals and lessons are imparative! Whether you are accustomed to using a recording-specific device or your phone, make sure you have a system that is dependable and works for you. I personally love my Zoom H4n Pro because my phone runs out of storage so fast! No matter what tool you use, be sure to bring batteries, a charging cord, and an extra storage card!

Score-Prep Kit
You do not want to scramble for a pencil during notes or for a post-it during a blocking rehearsal! Keep your highlighters, pencils, pens, colored pencils, tabs, white out, washi tape, etc. in one, easy-to-grab place. I have found that an eye-catching pouch does the trick! When marking up my own score, I love to use mechanical colored pencils and pastel highlighters

Rehearsal Garb
For the days where you just can't seem to catch a break, keep your character shoes and a spare rehearsal skirt in your bag! I like to keep them in an additional bag in my car or green room so I don't have to lug them around throughout the day. In this bag, I keep dance tights, a hand fan, breath mints, protein powder, and a warm scarf... Anything to make rehearsal as stress-free as possible!

Snack
Keep non-perishable, high-energy snacks in your rehearsal bag like protein shakes, granola bars, or nuts. One of my colleagues likes to keep a jar of almond butter in his backpack and will dip Trader Joe's Sesame Sticks in it - Yum!!

Tea Accoutrements
Keep a travel mug and tea bags handy- then all you'll need is some hot water! If you know that hot water will not be available to you, there are some amazing travel mugs on the market that are leak-proof and come with a tea infuser inside. My go-to is the Teavana Contour Tea Tumbler, although a thermos would also work very well!

For bonus points, keep all supplies in their own conveniently packed pouches so you won't be caught searching the depths of your bag. Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below!
